Nature Shores MN is a new cabin resort with seven modern tiny cabins to choose from. The property sits on over 50 acres of secluded woods with a lake. Each tiny cabin has a private outdoor space with seating, a grill and fire pit (wood included!). Inside you’ll find comfy furniture, a stove heater, and fully-equipped kitchen. The Birchbend and Rock Point cabins are dog-friendly. The Fern Valley cabin even has a sauna!

I love how much natural light the cabins have and each has a unique design so you can find the right stay for you!

Tiny Cabin Retreat in the Woods

Be still my heart! This place is absolute perfection. If you’re looking for calm and tranquility, this is the place. The owner has truly thought of everything, from the selection of records and books to the comfy nooks throughout the cabin. Personally, I loved reading on the wraparound porch and walking the short path down to the Snake River with my morning coffee.

This cabin has no tv but good wifi, making it a perfect writers retreat or remote work location. In the winter, there’s a wood burning sauna on the property that guests can use. I’ll definitely be going back to try that out!

The Havens (Big Oak & Little Oak)

The Havens manages several properties in Minnesota and Wisconsin, including two cabins in Pine City. Big Oak and Little Oak cabins are located next to each other if you want to book them together, but they are far enough apart to book them separately and still have privacy. Located just across the street from the beautiful Snake River, there is a covered platform with seating where you can sit and enjoy the view by the river. Both cabins allow dogs for a fee.

Big Oak has two bedrooms, one with double-over-double bunk beds which sleeps six. I stayed here in winter and loved cozying up by the stove heater and using the outdoor barrel sauna. In the warmer months, I imagine that six people would stay here very comfortably with the use of the large front patio and outdoor spaces. However, there is limited seating indoors which would make it difficult to have more than four people comfortably in winter. The front patio is pretty magical with strings of lights, a table and lots of seating for meals, board games and just hanging out.

Little Oak is a tiny home with one queen bed and two twin beds (located in a loft), which sleeps four. It’s a beautifully designed modern space with a garage door opening to the outdoors on warm days. Similar to Big Oak, there is limited indoor lounge space and seating so in winter it could be better suited for two people or a family with small children. Little Oak also has it’s own private barrel sauna!
